Avoid heavy meals: Eat a light meal 1-2 hours before the session to prevent any feelings of discomfort or nausea during the treatment.
Arrive without lotions, oils or sunscreen on your skin to allow the light to penetrate the skin and to protect the sauna from transfer.
during treatment

Listen to your body: If you start feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or uncomfortable, exit the sauna and take a break to cool down.
Relax and enjoy: Use the time in the sauna to relax, meditate, or do gentle breathwork
post treatment
Step out, towel off, and re-dress.
Rehydrate: Drink water or electrolyte-rich beverages to replenish fluids lost through sweating during the treatment.

FAQ
-
Infrared is a non-visible wavelength of light that penetrates the skin and creates heat. Infrared sauna is an enclosed space that directs these wavelengths at the body to increase body temperature, stimulating sweating and vasodilation.
-
Since infrared creates heat in the body, rather than heating the room and air you breathe, it is a more comfortable, relaxing experience.
-
Relaxation, stress relief, alleviating muscle tension, cardiovascular support, inflammatory support, circulation, and blood flow.
-
There are certain populations that should not participate in sauna. Individuals that are highly sensitive to heat, are prone to sudden drops in heart rate, blood sugar, or blood pressure, are pregnant, have unstable cardiovascular disease or have been advised not to by their medical provider. Otherwise, sauna should be safe. Speak with your primary health provider if you are unsure if it is safe for you.
-
Wear light, loose clothing that will be comfortable to put back on when you exit the sauna in a heated state. A towel to sit and stand on in the sauna will be provided, as well as one to use for your body. Feel free to bring your own if you prefer. It is recommended that you disrobe completely to benefit fully from the light therapy on your skin, but the choice is yours, a bathing suit is also an option.
-
It is recommended that you bring some pre- and post-sauna hydration with you. No drinks or food may be brought into the sauna itself to protect the equipment from damage. You may step out during your sauna to grab a sip of your drink if necessary.
-
Red light is a specific range of light wavelengths that most mimic early and late sun. Sunrise and Sunset. Red light therapy is light in these wavelengths directed onto the skin to affect the tissues and photoreceptors. Some of these wavelengths are not visible, and will look like bulbs that are not turned on in the tower.
-
These red wavelengths have been shown to support sleep, mood, and energy levels by influencing circadian rhythms, especially in the morning and evening. It has also been shown to have an effect on skin and other tissues by aiding in collagen production, circulation, metabolism, reducing inflammation, and speeding repair of the tissues. Supporting sports recovery, wound healing, and may even support chronic pain sufferers. While research is still ongoing, there is an increasing amount of evidence of the many non-invasive ways RLT is safe and effective.
-
Red light is considered quite safe for most populations. People taking drugs that increase light sensitivity of the eyes or skin, or with certain eye conditions should not participate in RLT.
-
Eye protection is provided, but is not required. If you are sensitive to bright light, or have a condition that is irritated by bright light, you may choose to wear the protection or use the sauna without the RLT on. It is advised to speak with your eye doctor if you are unsure if RLT is right for you. Some benefits of RLT are derived from the light entering the eyes, though you will still acquire many benefits through the skin if you decide to wear the filtering glasses.
-
RLT is most beneficial between 10-20 minutes. Extra time does not improve benefits. For Sauna, recommended duration is 15-30 minutes to balance the risk of dehydration from sweating, and the circulatory benefits.
-
Yes, though if you wish to treat the face specifically, it is recommended to have a clean, bare face so there is no barrier to the light waves entering the skin. This includes SPF.
